| Spring Lecture Series Free event Thursday evenings, March 25, April 22, and May 27. Lectures are held at 7:30 pm. at the Meridian Service Center, 2100 Gaylord C. Smith Drive, East Lansing, MI 48823. Lectures are free and open to the general public. Spring Special Event - "Meridian Memories" Saturday, May 15, 2 - 4 pm Focus will be on the Spanish American War of 1898 Celebrate Armed Forces Day with a step back to a time when Meridian residents were experiencing all the trials, tribulations, and difficulties of small communities who saw their loved ones go off to war. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children and includes "old-fashioned" refreshments at the end of the tour. Music in the Park Summer Series Free Event Wednesdays, June 16, 23, and 30 Wednesdays, July 14, 21, and 28 Enjoy an evening in the Village listening to local musicians performing a wide range of genres. All concerts begin at 7 pm. Refreshments available for a small fee. Gift Shop open till 9 pm. . Summer Programs for Children Monday - Friday, Aug. 2 - 6, 9 am - 12 noon Choose from a variety of topics ranging from "Sheep to Shawl"; "Rags to Riches", "Field to Table", as well programs still being developed on 19th century transportation and machinery. Cost is $20 per child for each morning sessions, or $75 per child for the entire week. A snack will be provided each morning. Fall Lecture Series Free event Thursday evenings, Sept. 23, Oct. 28, and Nov. 18 Lectures are held at 7:30 pm. at the Meridian Service Center, 2100 Gaylord C. Smith Drive, East Lansing, MI 48823. Meridian Fall Heritage Festival Free event Saturday, Oct. 2nd 11 am - 4 pm Jointly sponsored with Meridian Township Parks and Rec. Dept. and Nokomis Learning Center. Free admission and parking. Fun activities for children. Refreshments available for a small fee. Gift shop open. Christmas in the Village Free event Sunday, Dec. 5, 2 - 5 pm. Join Santa and the Friends for an old-fashioned Christmas in the Village. Historic buildings will be open and decorated for the holidays. Volunteers in period dress will share some of the old traditions of Christmas a long time ago. Gift shop open. |
