Free Lecture Series - 2009
   The Friends of Historic Meridian host six free lecture programs each year.  The programs are open to the public and no reservation is required.

    All lectures begin at 7:30 pm and are held at the Meridian Service Center, 2100 Gaylord C. Smith Drive, East Lansing.

    Following are the speakers scheduled for the Spring, 2009, series:

    Thursday, March 26:  Speaker:  Liz Homer, Retired Curator.  Subject:  History of Lansing's Turner-Dodge Mansion.

    Thursday, April 23:  Speaker:  Dave Votta, Capital Area District Library. Subject:  Bath School Bombing.

    Thursday, May 28:  Speaker:  Sandra Soifer, Subject:  Michigan Women's Hall of Fame

Fall Speakers to be announced at a later date.

    Thursday, September 24th:     Speaker:  Ruth Dukelow, Subject:  "History and Development of Libraries in
                                                                                                    Michigan"
    Thursday, October 22nd:       Speaker:  Barb Koval, Subject:  "The One Room Schoolhouse in Michigan"
    Thursday, November 19th:     Speaker:  Tami Averill, Subject:  "Frontier Life in Michigan"
