The 2007 Fall Heritage Festival was held on Saturday, October 6th, from 11 am to 4 pm.

There were early American demonstrations and exhibits in the Village as well as children's activities and games.  Performers included a bagpipe player and Irish dancers (see photos), and banjo/guitar players.  And for the children, we had a heritage breed animal petting zoo and pony rides ($4 each).

A 19th Century Handwriting exhibit was on display in the schoolhouse, a redwork embroidery display in the farmhouse, and an antique Holloween display in the tollgate house.

We also had demonstrators and exhibitors, including lace makers, rug hookers, weavers, and spinners.  Also demonstrating were a flintknapper who taught children how to make arrowheads, a quilter, a blacksmith and more.

Our Food Court provided a wide range of early and native foods along with the L&L Sausage Wagon, Cottage Inn Pizza, Haslett Women's Club bake sale, and the Friends of Historic Meridian popcorn machine.

The weather was beautiful and everyone reported they really enjoyed the day, the activities, and the Village.

    The "new"
log cabin was dedicated at noon.

Please join us on Saturday, October 4th, from 11 am to 4 pm for our 2008 Heritage Festival!

The Festival is co-hosted by the Friends of Historic Meridian, Nokomis (native American)
Learning Center, and Meridian Township Parks and Recreation Department.
