| Christmas in the Village is held the first Sunday in December. In 2008, the buildings will be open on Sunday, December 2nd from 2 - 5 pm. The theme for 2008 will be "A Scandanavian Christmas". A special Victorian Christmas Tea will be held in the Barnes House Inn and Tavern (by reservation only). The cost is $10 per person. All the historic buildings will be open and decorated for the holidays. Free admission all afternoon. Santa joins us each year and holds "court" for all the children (young and old) who attend the event. The Township community tree is lit at 4 pm with special guests "flipping the switch". In 2008, the special guests will be Alana and Bob Anderson. In keeping with the theme for 2008, these "Scandanavian" members have been very involved with the Village. Bob and Alana were responsible for remodeling the Barnes House kitchen to look more in keeping with the period. They also were active in replacing the floors in the Grettenberger farmhouse and setting up the interior of the Perkins-Copland log cabin. Bob is currently in the process of putting together period-appropriate windows for the cabin. Please join us for the 2008 Christmas in the Village! |
