Christmas in the Village is held the first Sunday in December.  In 2007, the buildings will be open on Sunday, December 2nd from 2 - 5 pm.

The Friends added a special Victorian Christmas Tea which was held in the Barnes House Inn and Tavern (by reservation only).  The tea was very successful and will be repeated in 2007.

All the historic buildings are decorated for the holidays.  The above picture shows the Christmas tree in the parlor of the Grettenberger farmhouse.  In addition to decorating the tree with dried fruit, antique candle clips are on the tree.  The clips were donated by John Grettenberger and belonged to his grandmother, Minnie Grettenberger.  The Friends were pleased to be able to return the candle clips to the house where they were originally used.

Santa joins us each year and holds "court" for all the children (young and old) who attend the event.

The Township community tree is lit at 4 pm with special guests "flipping the switch".  In 2004, the special guest was Don Devendorf.  At age 90, he was the oldest active members of the Friends, serving as Board secretary until 2006.  In 2005, the youngest active members, Andrew, Matthew and Mary Cotter (2), were the special guests.  In 2006, two artists who have generously provided their talents in sketching pictures for sale in the gift shop (J. Wesley Olds and Betty Hicks) were special guests.

Please join us for the 2007 Christmas in the Village and see who our "special guest/s" will be.
